Story Overview

The story begins in a dense forest where a large number of trees are being felled to construct a railway track. A local shaman warns the authorities that the powers of the forest will not tolerate this destruction.

However, the project owner, Bara, and his associates disregard this warning. To them, profit and investment are of paramount importance.

Some time later, a new tourist train named the Sangkara Train is launched, intended to transport passengers to a new resort.

The passengers include two sisters, Purnama and Kembang. Purnama has recently undergone cancer treatment and wishes to spend some happy moments with her sister.

Initially, the journey seems normal, but everything changes after passing through the first tunnel.

The Beginning of Terror

As the train passes through the first tunnel, an entire carriage mysteriously vanishes.

The train staff attempts to attribute the incident to a technical glitch, but soon, the passengers begin to witness strange and terrifying phenomena.

In some places, ghostly figures appear, while in others, the spirits of deceased laborers manifest.

After every new tunnel, yet another carriage of the train begins to disappear.

The passengers now realize that they are not merely caught in an ordinary accident, but have instead become the targets of a supernatural force.

The Forest Entity

The central entity depicted in the film is a mysterious force of the forest.

This force is portrayed as being intrinsically linked to trees, vines, and natural energy.

As the train moves forward, this entity begins to attack the passengers and the train crew.

The film depicts the extremely gruesome and terrifying deaths of several individuals.

The horror element of the film is primarily centered around this entity and the attacks it perpetrates.

The Hidden Truth

As the story unfolds, the truth emerges: Bara had decided to route the railway tracks directly through the heart of the forest in order to save money and maximize profits.

As a result of this decision, thousands of trees were felled.

During the construction work, several laborers also lost their lives, but their deaths were covered up.

The families of the laborers continued to demand answers regarding their missing relatives, but the authorities never revealed the truth.

It was at this point that the spirits of the forest became enraged and began to exact their revenge.

Main Characters

Purnama

Purnama is the female lead of the film. She is battling cancer but wants to spend beautiful moments of life with her sister.

Kembang

Kembang loves her sister dearly and spends the entire film trying to save her.

Tekun

Tekun is a responsible employee of the train. Even when others panic, he tries to help the passengers.

Ramla

Ramla is a mysterious woman who boards a train in search of her missing husband.

Bara

Bara is the film's primary antagonist. The entire tragedy unfolds as a result of his greed and poor decisions.

Ending Explained

In the final part of the film, only a few people survive.

They abandon the train and attempt to escape through the forest.

However, they soon realize that the danger is not limited to the train or the tunnels.

The entity of the forest begins transforming everyone into trees, one by one.

This symbolically represents the restitution for the trees that were cut down for the railway project.

Kembang, too, is ultimately transformed into a tree.

Purnama, however, survives.

Six months later, she returns to the same spot and asks the shaman why she was left behind.

The shaman explains that she had cancer in her body, and the power of the forest did not deem her suitable for its purpose.

The final scene of the film is deeply emotional, as Purnama stands before her sister's tree and speaks to it.

 Hidden Meaning of the Movie

This film was not created merely to scare the audience.

It harbors several profound messages beneath the surface.

Neglect of Workers

In the film, the deaths of laborers are covered up, and their families are left without any answers.
