Pamali: Tumbal (2025) Horror Movie Review & Ending Explained in Hindi

 Introduction

To be honest, Pamali: Tumbal was a horror experience that made me feel genuinely uncomfortable at several points. Nowadays, many horror films rely solely on loud jump scares, but this movie gradually builds its dread, suddenly creating an atmosphere that left me completely immersed in the story.

Story Overview

The story of the film revolves around a girl named Putri Dewi Kuncoro. Strange occurrences are taking place in her village; money is disappearing from people's homes, and women go missing every year.

When Putri's mother, Ambar, also suddenly disappears, the story became even more interesting to me, because from that point on, the film shifts directly into mystery and horror mode.

Putri sets out with her friends, Kiki and Cecep, to find her mother. However, as they draw closer to the truth, they uncover dark secrets involving black magic, ritual sacrifices, and terrifying spirits like the Tuyul.

I liked that the film isn't limited to merely showing ghosts, but also effectively incorporates themes like greed and sacrifice into the story.

Horror Experience

Honestly, I found the horror in this film to be quite effective. The night scenes, in particular—along with the atmosphere of the old factory and the forest—felt incredibly creepy to me.

In my opinion, the design of the Tuyul is one of the film's biggest highlights. Its appearance and movements are genuinely terrifying; at times, its mere presence is enough to create palpable tension.

The scenes featuring the Black Kuntilanak were also quite disturbing. There were moments where I genuinely did not expect a scene to suddenly become so intense.

I also appreciated that the film doesn't gratuitously insert jump scares every five minutes. It delivers the scares only when they are truly warranted—and that is precisely what makes it so much more effective.

Performances

Keisya Levronka impressed me significantly in the role of Putri. Her acting feels strong in both the emotional scenes and the horror sequences.

Ummi Quary brings a great energy to the film as Kiki. I also liked Fajar Nugra's character, Cecep, as he doesn't feel like just a generic side character.

However, if I were to single out the most standout performance, it would be that of Verdi Solaiman, who played the role of Sukiman. His calm demeanor is precisely what makes him all the more dangerous.

What I Liked

  • Dark and creepy atmosphere
  • The Tuyul's terrifying design
  • Effective use of black magic and folk horror
  • Strong sound design
  • An emotional family angle
  • Several genuinely scary scenes

Weak Points

I found the first half of the film a bit slow. Some scenes could have been shortened.

If some of the side characters had received more screen time, the emotional impact might have been even stronger.

Conclusion

For me, Pamali: Tumbal wasn't just a run-of-the-mill horror movie. It is a film that generates fear through its atmosphere and tension.

If you enjoy folk horror, black magic, cursed villages, and dark supernatural stories, I think you will definitely love this film.

The movie isn't perfect, but the horror experience it delivers is quite memorable. It is especially enjoyable if you watch it at night—either with headphones on or together with friends.
